According to an article in The Dartmouth, Dartmouth will not go to its wait list this year. I am thrilled to see that students and parents could see past the negative publicity and see the College we know and love! While I was personally not a fan of the Dimension changes, it looks like that was a very positive move. Congrats to all who committed to Dartmouth!

Ouch, that one hurts quite a bit for waitlisters. I’m in love with the school - will take some time to get over. Glad to hear the College isn’t suffering though, Dartmouth deserves a turnaround from the bad publicity.

I’m sorry, ouryellowpaint. Tough year for the wait listed students. I’m sure you will end up loving whatever school you attend. I like your post. Very level headed.

It may be that the increase in yield is somewhat linked to the decrease in applications. Self selection is not, IMHO, a bad thing, although schools are not rewarded by USN&WR when it occurs.

I believe that D has also increased the % accepted thru ED over the past few years. With ~99% of ED’ers matriculating (and the use of a WL), yield can be somewhat managed. (Penn has been doing this trick for years). :)
