<p>@momqueen. our situation is just the opposite. my return with refund was processed and was able to use DRT in about two weeks after i filed. during the conversation earlier with IRS Rep advice us to let college know that IRS will not process any return with taxes owe until sometime in may and that Dept.of Education is also aware of this IRS processing Issue. last year dd (currently freshmen)didn’t file return/no need and i was the only one use DRT on FAFSA and it work without delay.This year DD has to file 2012 taxes and use DRT for her 2nd year FA. At least returning student FA deadline is way later then incoming freshmen…I would advice you to contact the college your child enroll and let them know of IRS processing issue.</p>
<p>I just wanted to update this thread-- a month and a bit after the Apr. 15th deadline, DRT /finally/ went through for us. We’ve been trying every two/three days, and neither the transcript/DRT were ready until today. Taxes were pulled out of my parents’ banking account in early Feburary, btw.</p>
<p>I filed and paid taxes on February 1st and was finally able to use the DRT 3-4 days ago. Took long enough!</p>
