Data Science for undergrads

S3 is interested in Data Science having taken a few online courses on it as well as programming classes.
He liked WPI - the four quarters and project based curriculum, the encouragement to try the tough stuff and etc. But unlike some of the UCs there appears to be no undergrad major for data science. As he’s also quite interested in computing a thought was perhaps he could major in CS while minoring in data science. Or might Applied Mathematics major with data science minor be a better fit for someone interested in data science? We noticed posters up on various bulletin boards announcing the data science program so it seems like the school is making a push in that area. And I think I read that the undergrads can take graduate classes. So maybe there’s something there. Any insight appreciated.
