You don't sound like someone any college would want. How are you supposed to give back to the world if you don't care for anyone on it?

The Stanford essays were much different from anything on the UC application, so I don't see how you could have copy-pasted those. "Describe the world you come from" does not translate into a roommate letter, or a "Why Stanford", or even something "you find intellectually engaging".

cornell is releasing decisions on march 31st online, at 5pm but knowing how long it took to access the site on the ED notification date, a student may not be able to access his or her decision until around 7

Ok, now you're just being a douche. Congrats on that, hope it makes you feel better about yourself.

But why are you "hoping teeth and nail"? Do you honestly dilute yourself into thinking you are getting a vastly superior education? I wanna hear some reasons why people think Stanford in THE school to go to.

Well I'm not going to repost my entire "Why Stanford" essay but its an environment I really like. It offers a great option in the coterminal degree which allows you to start your graduate school during your undergrad, saving up to two years overall. The professors are top notch, the campus (environment in which we'll be living for the next 4 years) is amazing, and they offer a lot of unique extracurricular activities like the pre-law society that you can take full advantage of to evaluate different career paths. They have an extremely spread alumni network, which is of great help when you're later trying to find a job in unknown areas (i.e. Canada, Europe). And hate to wet the newspaper for you, but the 'stanford' name does mean a lot on the job market. They get the top recruiters every year, most graduates start with a very competitive salary in their fields and generally speaking in ensures success in the field of work you choose.

Personally, I think you're vilifying the school so much because you don't expect to get in. So you're self-righteously deluding yourself into thinking that everyone who wants to go into Stanford or manages to get in is a drone to the Stanford name.A preemptive strike if you will. If you really didn't believe one college to be better than the other, you would have signed up for the nearest community college (which offer a fine education) and be done with it. Hell you might even have skipped college altogether since higher education no longer ensures a place in the job market. Survey says....you're full of crap.

Just one man's opinion though, take it with a grain of salt. :)

But in the end, the reason doesn't matter. I could have written that it was because I liked their football mascot and i would have had just as much entitlement in doing so. College choice is one of the most important and personal choices someone can make (hence our presence on this board). Get your head out of your ass.

P.S. I think you meant 'delude'. 'Dilute' means to lower a concentration by adding water. How did those SATs go?

Believe me, once you read into the essays and get down to it they all basically ask the same thing under different camouflage. "Describe the world" = talk about volunteering. "Why stanford" = talk about engineering desires. "Intellectually engaging" = a 10 minute rant about how you love academics.

To me, your essay sounds like you are essay-ing the Stanford brochure which I am sure a ton of other people did too.

Actually the SAT's went really well...I only missed 1/18 of the vocab problems which is great considering I memorized the words (1000 of them) and then forgot them right after the test.

I love how I poke the "drone" and everybody jumps out with their claws swinging :) Proves my point about y'all applying just because someone told you Stanford was the best place to go...no one has posted any legit reasons why they want to slit their wrists to go to stanford.

Sorry that summary of my essay didn't please you. I probably should have just spit on the screen and clicked send like you did. Oh well. Live and learn.

And we're the ones who don't care about education, just achievement. Cute.

Anyway, good luck on all your endeavors. I hope you find happiness in everything you do. :)

P.S. I hear Doctor Phil wrote some wonderful self-help books. Remember to love yourself first.

The spit-n-send method worked for me at 5 schools so far...my fav was banging out a 2 page essay for UT Austin in 15 minutes about problems within society.

Slacker who memorizes 1000s of words for the SAT.... okay try not even opening a prep book for the ACT and scoring a 33 or not opening a prep book and getting 5s on Calc and Chem AP tests...

this fool is just trying to reassure himself that he's "cool" despite the fact that he's really a racist loser who will lead a meaningless and loveless life.

What ever happened to the days where SATs were optional and it was an accomplishment to get into any college?

How funny would it be if everyone that applied to Stanford only got a 1400 on the SAT and a 2.0 GPA...ha ha...they would have to accept a freshman class of idiots 8D

median acceptance SAT is ~2000 which is >95th percentile
Go look at the Ivy league's median scores. 2000 is less than 25th percentile for every single Ivy league school (and Stanford isn't even an Ivy, why did you even bring that up?)

You're stupid. USC is on their once..this year..and they're second. Look at how many first place finishes Stanford has had.

Stanford University has won the award for the best Division I collegiate athletics program for 13 straight years, winning 13 out of the 14 years it has been offered.

Sorry to say but you're an idiot if you think Stanford has more recognition than USC
Ummm....it does. WAAAAY more people know of Stanford than USC, now you're just fooling yourself. USC may have waaay more graduates and have a a waaaay bigger alumni association, but everyone who knows about sports knows about USC and Stanford. Everyone who doesn't know about sports knows about Stanford..a few know about USC. Many of my friends think that USC is some random public university in Cali, that has nothing but a good football team. That's it.

You probably got rejected EA, and are just bitter.

Wow it must feel horrible having the whole board hate and bash on you with a such passion....

You're the kid who carries an air of nonchalance and a facade of apathy but covertly underneath you are nothing but a bitter, narrow-minded fool who is deluded into believing with conviction that he is disillusioned. amateurcollegegu? more like immateurcollegegu.

...see what I did there? sigh I slay me....
