dating at u of m? help please!!!!!!!!!1

is it just me, or does anyone else find the women at u of m a bit...lacking? there's just not that many hot girls at michigan, and in my experience there so far, most of the hottest ones are jerks you dont really want to spend time with anyway.

i mean, when i visit msu it the exact opposite: the girls are much more attractive despite not being as smart. does anyone else notice this sort ofinverse correlation between hotness and intelligence? i know its just a stereotype but i've noticed that it fits reality very well. seriously, does anyone know someone who's really hot, smart, and has a good personality?because i'd absolutely want to take THAT out... too bad there aren't any in the 23,000 (or whatever) student population at u of m. how does the dating scene work here any way?

Of course there is an inverse correlation between "hotness" and intelligence. That's just how things work. Although I'm sure there are a lot of very attractive and very smart girls out there. And don't be so mean, Jesus Christ. Be glad that U of M is the school where the intelligent girls are, it's much more rare than to have all of them be totally hot.

It's pretty much common knowledge in Michigan that when you decide to go to UM over Michigan State, your trading a hot girls for a better education. As much as it sucks, that's the way it goes.

Intelligence is hotter than hotness anyway.

To shamrock, that is all true. When u go to state u have to try hard to find a girl that's ugly. At UofM u have to try hard to find a girl that's hot. That's how it was at my high school cept' a couple cute ones did come here. :) However, I will say that there are a couple of hot slimmies up here though, you just gotta look harder which is the problem.

Shouldn't the guys all be ugly too? That would at least make it less competitive.

interesting... at the class of '11 facebook group I've noticed how beautiful the girls are. it's the guys who seem to be lacking.

this is the second thread like this I've seen where guys are whining about the lack of perfect women at UM. does that mean I should expect to Mr. Perfect everywhere on campus?

maybe the attractive girls won't give you the time of day because they're feminists and see stuff like this thread.

In the end, and you know this is true, you'll be happy to have had access to bright, interesting, sharp-minded, insightful young women. Most men with brains find that those types are increasingly attractive as you get to know them (and as you get older). If you're that starving for eye candy, buy yourself a subscription to Maxim.

Oh goodnesses, does that mean I have to be pretty AND smart? Sheesh...that's just too hard. :-P

No, Michigan's not an attractive campus. The thing about guys and girls is that there's more variance among girls. Girls are expected to do more to be attractive and I'm just incredibly lazy. And facebook LIES. Seriously, just about every chick that I saw on facebook the summer before I went to college ended up a disappointment in real life. Michigan boys are an acquired taste, like coffee or beer...once you get used to them, you're hooked for life. (Or mostly, before I went to college, I had this Republicans-and-Christians-only rule...and don't get me wrong, I'm still both...but goodness, it ticks me off so much more when a guy doesn't understand Michigan than when he doesn't understand my faith and politics.)

well according to college pro wler's ranking: google it

girls are an A- at michigan which is good.
Everyone is talking like its a B- campus or something

I've been to Ann Arbor once, which was during an MSU/UM football game. Girls on campus were pretty hot, but then again, they could have been from State.

Anyway, I don't think people will be too disappointed with Michigan as long as they don't go in expecting Ann Arbor to be a harem of super attractive females.

It depends. Most attractive girls are in sororities (if they're not varsity athletes). Tri Delt, Alpha Phi, and Kappa are the hottest, but even they have some not-so-attractive girls.

i think the intelligence hotter than hotness thing is really case by case. sorry, i guess i was hormonally depressed last night hanging out with my friends and their really hot msu girlfriends. it doesn't help that my roommate brings back mediocre girls. at least he's majoring in something that forces you to meet girls for more than face value whether you like it or not. i had to read some number theory, random stuff, gauss integer stuff, rereading proofs for fermet's little theorem. euler-phi function, and wilsons theorem, to help me fall asleep, although that wasn't distracting enough. i went on to read an international economics textbook and watch cnbc...people are so dumb. no meeting girls in math and even if there were a hot girl, just watch a beautiful mind and see what competition does.

Of course it's case by case, but I want to be at UM because I want a 7/10 with an IQ of 150 much over a 9/10 with an IQ of 110. Although sadly I have to agree that the latter case is still ridiculous to expect anywhere. I want to cry.

oh boy...better wait and see who is out there before judging. I know some perfectly beautiful girls who are also smart and well rounded. There's a lot more to picking a mate than looks and IQ. Good luck!

I love college confidential. I come here just to be with other people.

dude, a 150 IQ is insanely rare. You should probably lower your standards to 5/10.

I know it's really rare, and I meant to say that, but I said "latter" instead of "former," oops. But yeah, it was just an example. A girl like that would just consider me too stupid anyway.

LOL this is a kinda..sad thread..LOL
