Can anyone recommend any good places to take a girl out to near ucla? Any particularly nice restaurants (not too expensive for a college guy)? I don't have a car here btw. Any other dating ideas? I was thinking Getty (cab) and maybe Santa Monica (bus).

santa monica is great...you could go to the pier, its really beautiful at night

There's actually a lot of things to do in the Los Angeles area if you don't mind spending a little bit of time on the bus.

Getty Museum (save your money on the cab and take the bus - red rapid 761)

Hollywood Bowl (tickets can get pricey though- metro 2 or 302 and then walk up the road a bit)

Hollywood in general (take the metro 2 or 302)

Hammer Museum (it's on Wilshire/Westwood and free to students)

Santa Monica Beach (Big Blue Bus 2 or 3)

Any other beach nearby (i.e. Venice)

Plan a picnic at a nearby park (though - the closest one to campus isn't all that close --- I'd go to one off wilshire so that you don't have to walk the
entire way) though you could also plan a picnic just on campus someplace but, it probably wouldn't be as private as you'd like

UCLA planetarium show (it's usually on Wednesday nights at the top of the Math Sciences Building - you can look it up online for exact details)

UCLA Botanical Gardens (but, depending on where you start from, it can turn into a long walk)

Korea Town (take the red rapid 720 or 920)

Griffith Park (you'll have to look the bus route up for this one -- I can't remember it off the top of my head - but definitely more of a day trip)

There's also lots of good, cozy restuarants down Westwood, past Wilshire like Soleil, Westwood Thai Cafe, etc... (if you don't want to walk take the Big Blue bus 8 or 12)

The Beverly Center - if you want a giant mall (take the metro 2 or 302)

The Westside Pavillion - if you want a slightly smaller mall (Big Blue Bus 8 or 12)

Also just a nice walk around campus at night... it's sooo pretty! :-)

UCLA sporting event (if your date likes sports)

UCLA concerts/plays/operas (check out UCLA happenings - there's usually student discounts on tickets and they're mostly on campus)

If I think of more, I'll be sure to post.

Someone should sticky this. This is good info for prespectives and currents who need to get out more. :D

fits the needs to get out more status

Thanks glam & ckings!~

I almost forgot I made this thread lol. Thanks for the ideas!

Could anyone recommend any good date-worthy restaurants in Westwood? I live in North Village, so anything nearer here would be preferable. Thanks!
