Dating Question

I have often wrestled with this question: Is age difference in a relationship a problem? I sometimes get the sense that older guys like being with younger girls for obvious reasons...?

If it helps any, my english teacher ended up marrying a woman who was like 7 years older than him. They broke up eventually and had a kid. He tells us stories of her and of the things she's done. And they kind of leave you wondering how in the world does she even get by in life. He said that he should have known things wouldn't have worked out when he found out she was 7 years older. Biggest mistake of his life he says.

My mom and dad are 8 years apart. They've been married for 20 years, 21 in a few months. They're still together. They had a fight today, but they'll probably get over that. I'm not sure how this relates to dating though.

uh, is that a quote?

it's a quote alright but from who? i'm guessing since you posted a ? at the end of your last sentence he's giving you one of the 'obvious reasons' of why older men are into younger girls.

Randal Graves said that

Hurrah for CII.

I'm a year older than my boyfriend. I don't think it's had an effect on our relationship at all in terms of maturity/whatever, but obviously it's been interesting to have already started college, etc.

" "because 17 year olds today are up for anything...they even do ass to mouth" "

****ing, hilarious.

(That quote was from Clerks II for the clueless population)

Anyway.. to actually answer the question. Usually an age difference isn't a big deal as long as the people are at the same point in life & want the same things out of the relationship. (In general girls like an older man rather than a guy that is younger than them .. it's hard to explain the rational behind that but whatever). If one person wants to party hard every night & the other person wants to settle down & get married... there may be serious issues.
