I’m coming in as a fall 2006 freshman for CAS. I’ve heard wonderful things about the school, and I know the guy/girl ratio is pretty skewed, but I just thought I would ask: is there a healthy dating scene on campus? people aren’t too locked up in study to have some fun, are they?

<p>BU is in boston! it's a great party scene i know that's for sure. don't know much about the dating, though i'm sure there's A LOT of hooking up.</p>
<p>Haha, like I said about other things, if you want it, you can find it. If you haven't heard this word yet: Sexiled, you will surely learn it within the first weeks of school. I was sexiled the first week of school when my roomate chose to date a girl hed known for a day, and I ended up sleeping that night in my friends room. It wasn't a big deal though, payback was had later that week. But yeah, theres def the possibility of dating, and many people do.</p>

<p>the girl guy ratio is 60:40 and like half of the guys are gay. i guess i am at an advatage if i decide to go to BU. i dont get my transfer decision until mid-may :(.</p>
<p>NOO, not 50 percent are gay...Yes there are a ton of gay males, but by no means are the majority gay.</p>
<p>Maybe 5% are gay at most. Both boys and girls. Its not SF or NYC. MIT is around the corner and about 70% male so they love to have BU girls come to their get togethers. We have not had any problems being with guys. There are thousands and thousands of them after all.</p>
<p>Most colleges are 60-40 ish female to male ratio these days. In just one generation female studenst have outrun males in the college admisisions process. There are exceptions but they tend to be schools like Columbia that can be 50-50 since Barnard is 100% female. Science type schools like Lehigh, MIT, and RenPoly. Tech. still have majority males but even that is changing. Its still a lot of guys at a big shool like BU so don't worry about it.</p>
<p>MIT's ratio is not bad at all.. 47-53 they are fairly even. WPI is pretty bad.. 23% women 77% men.</p>
<p>My friend is going to MIT next year and he was told that the incoming class is expected to be 50:50.</p>
