Daughter Accepted

My daughter was accepted into Duquesne's Nursing BSN. This is one of the schools that we didn't visit. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who wouldn't mind sharing their impressions of the school and/or the nursing program.

How long did it take for your daughter to receive her acceptance after she applied?

I’d love to know how long too llevin, my S is waiting :)

We didn’t visit either, but that’s because S has to audition in January (Pappert School of Music) so we’ll visit then. Glad to share our impressions if you still haven’t been by then, AndOne.

Duquesne is my first choice, i applied as a Physical Therapy major and I’m so anxious to here!

@Andone, do you mind posting your daughters stats? Thanks!

It took about eight weeks from the time she applied before she heard from Duquesne. Here are her stats.

Reading 550
Math 510
Writing 480
Bio subject test 600
Gpa 3.6

Over the last two years she took every science and math AP course that her high scool offered and could fit in her schedule and held her own in them. I think she’s ready for the challenge and I’m glad Duquesne felt the same way.

Summer volunteer work in a Boston hospital and a pretty good essay which she just let me read yesterday.

Thanks andone, good luck to her!

My D is a sophomore in the school of nursing. She is pretty happy with the program, and is doing very well academically. I’ll send you a PM.

My son is a junior and has been exceptionally happy at Duquesne. He is living off campus this year in Southside, which is about 3/4 of a mile off campus. It’s a popular area of the city for college kids. We are from out of state and have loved getting to know Pittsburgh. Fun city!

I applied on December 1 and I’m waiting on a reply for the School of Nursing. My grandmother went there (admittedly a long time ago) and she always talked about how much she loved it. Can’t wait to find out!
