So my freshman daughter and her friends would like to rent an apt for next school year. The are looking at Campus Corner, which has horrendous reviews (thanks to earlier posts with links). What is the general opinion of the apartments in the area and about sophomores living off campus vs. in the dorms? I sure wish IU dorms had more suites!

IUMom I hear your pain. My D looked at some houses - I wasn't real big on her living in a house yet. She loves the convenience of being on campus and I looked at apts close to school and really didn't find any. I looked at the apts available on campus - mostly they were 4 stories, had no elevators and no air conditioning and some didn't even have kitchens PLUS you needed seniority to even get one so as a Sophmore next year that is probaby out. I have heard though there are apts on the bus route. And I've seen pictures online and they are gorgeous. I think it's just my daughter - she is loving the convenience of living across the street practically from where she has her classes and since she probably sleeps late this is probably a good thing.
