Daughter traveling abroad

My daughter is a Foreign Language/Literature major traveling abroad for 5 weeks to Costa Rica and would like suggestions for a gift for the host family. Thank you

We usually send something specific to our region or state. Since we live in Texas, we have sent calendars with pics of Texas scenery, jars of salsa, tea towels with bluebonnets on them, etc. Also, my kids usually offer to cook a “Texas” meal for their hosts and take ingredients with them that might be hard to find abroad. We have also hosted foreign students several times and have received: stained glass Canadian maple leaves, reindeer fur ■■■■■ dolls from Norway, wine from Italy, pottery and jewelry from India and coffee table books from England.

I will email my DD who lives there and ask for suggestions. What part of CR is she going to be in?

My D brought local tee shirts & the board game Apples to Apples. ( they had younger children)

Tea towels, maple products.

My kids have brought Ohio sports teams t shirts and Ohio maple syrup and Ohio buckeye candies to host families.
