Okay, so what is Davenport REALLY like? Both my dad and my brother lived there, so I think what I hear at dinner is a little... Biased.

Wow, no love? Bump...

Davenport's really nice... if i weren't in Berkeley i wouldn't mind being in Dport. definitely one of my top few pics. It's not perfectly central, but it's in a good area. The courtyard and basement facilities are nice. The dining hall food isn't my favorite, but the space itself is nice. A lot of campus groups use the common room for performance space. And welch is a good building to be in... there's a fair number of singles. Not sure i'd want to live in some of the bigger suites (there's one for 10 males and one for 12.... that many boys in one room is kind of gross), but the princess suites for girls are really nice. And there's a fair number of singles. Not sure how much dport annexes, but the annex space is in arnold hall, which is right next to the college.

How's the dean? What are the facilities like after the renovation (is there like a game room etc)? How are the actual Davenport rooms? Courtyard/tower? Any perks or special events? Thanks for the above post... just hoping for other info too...

BTW, any student can now go to any dining hall, right? And they all adopted the organic menu thing?

'Kay, I'm bumping this one.

i g2g but hopefully some1 will answer this thread...

Any student can go to any dining hall (except on family night - Sunday nights in most colleges, which are a real pain if you want to eat in a dining hall with friends from multiple colleges). They all have the same menu. That doesn't mean that they're all the same quality though.

I'm not in D-Port, so I can't really give you good answers to your questions specifically about it. From what I've seen though, the rooms are pretty decent. The main stereotype the rest of us have is that it's full of legacies, which seems to be a trend you'll be continuing. Also, it was George Bush's college.
