We are fortunate in that even though we live in New England these two schools are not completely unknown to us.

Mom is a William and Mary grad and we have lived in North Carolina and are aware of Davidson's under the radar excellence.

We believe both school to be great choices for our daughter who is very science oriented (pre-med interest) with a strong secondary interest in politics.

Mom and I think smaller is better regarding both of these schools yet have some concern that Davidson may be too small.

We are visiting W&M this weekend and Davidson in two weeks for the final decision.

Students ? Parents ? Bueller ? All opinions and ideas are welcome and apprecaited !

Both schools are great. However,Davidson is in a class by itself. Both pre-med and
political science (the Dean Rusk program?) are very strong. What's not to like about spending four years on a safe, beautiful campus.Division 1 sports where the athletes meet the same lofty academic standards as everyone else.Small is good-lots more personal attention and bumping into friends and profs.

I am graduating from Davidson next month and start medical school in July so I can attest to the strength of Davidson's premed program-all of my premed friends and acquaintances at school got accepted to medical school. Davidson is not for everyone, but viewing your daughters background on another thread on a similar topic, I would say that she is the type of student who likely would be very happy here.

Two of the best schools in the South. Congrats on knowing how similar these schools are. Biggest distinction will be size. D will just have a feel as to which one is right for her. Academically, you cant go wrong with either choice.

Davidson has "The Chemistry of Art," which is a very cool concept (great prof too, from what I've heard). You analyze the chemistry of paint, art restoration, etc.
