Davidson Basketball

In hopes of securing the interest of all of you, I would like to say: there is nothing quite like watching Steph Curry score repeatedly from over thirty feet away. Or watching Andrew Lovedale soar above everyone around him and swing from the basket after a resounding dunk. Or when Brendan McKillop or Ben Allison make an unexpected three-pointer over the heads of the opposing team blockers and then look around wildly, unsure if they just imagined it happening. Or when Steve Rossiter flies, seemingly out of nowhere for a stealthy pass from Max Gosselin.

We just smashed NC State. Yep.

The best part about Davidson basketball, though, is that the players are US. You will have a basketball player in a class with you or on your hall or on your friends' hall at least somewhere along the line. They are down to earth, intelligent (all athletes are held to the same academic standards in the admissions process), and all-around cool guys. On a weekly basis, Frank of the basketball team, one of my hall-mates, and I study calculus together. I've had lunch with Steph Curry and I've played video games with A.J.
And that's typical. Davidson fans can be even happier for successes of the team because we KNOW the players. We're a better support for them when they lose because we KNOW them and we have faith in them as people and as athletes.

I'm not a sports person -- but I've a new-found, genuine interest in basketball since my arrival on this hilly paradise.

:-)

I have played competitive basketball since I was 6 years old.

What do I love most about the amazing Stephen Curry?

Game against Loyola or w/e: 0 points, because they double teamed literally the entire game. However, he had boatloads of assists and they won the game handily.

NC-State? He lets it rain for 44. Sick.

I can't wait to meet him (wink wink adcomms ;)!)

Another one bites the dust!
