Davidson Class of 2018 Regular Decision Discussion/Results

@helloyesplease I think they were notified in the letter last year.

@jrmama496 and @FEMMOM - According to Davidson Admissions’s twitter (dcadmission), “If you met the fin aid deadline, should have an email from fin aid in a few hours with details.”

Also accepted
2290, just under 4.0 (way above 4.0 weighted)

@Tanboyrunfast Thanks for the information! Let’s hope for good financial aid news!

Are people getting emails or what? Is there a portal?

@RayneDrops The portal is on the main admissions site! On the upper right side.

Received an email at 10:50 with the financial aid information. It seems like it’s a need-based grant. I assume that means he did not get a merit scholarship. Of course, not enough money for us. Looks like Davidson is out as well.

I’m in as well! No FA information though.

Accepted!!!
I thought I would be rejected becuase I was waitlisted at Colby/Grinnell!

Waitlisted…34 ACT 4.0 GPA, tons of volunteer hours, varsity swimteam 4 years, captain of swimteam senior year, ASB Committee head, Year round swim team, and even more, this is stupid

also had perfect act scores on both math and reading

Hey does anyone know when merit scholarships are announced?

Son Accepted!

Got my financial aid award, they want my family to pay 8000 dollars more than we can.

@AmericanHopee

That sucks! Was it just need-based, or did you get a merit award as well?

No, need-based, but apparently they calculated need very differently.
I’m thinking maybe they made a mistake with the travel allowance. It’s 100 dollars, and I have to fly in for 1200 dollars/roundtrip, at twoflights a year that’s very expensive. I wrote them an email. Hopefully they’ll increase my grant award a bit and I’ll do more work study than I have to. I’ll wait and see.

Rejected :(

I’m sorry  Apparently they also had an increase in applications. Looks like the acceptance rate will be 18 % or so.

Still no email with financial aid… Is anyone else still waiting?

It was in my spam folder. Checked there?

They probably also need a lot of time to send out those 1000 emails. Maybe they started with last names beginning with A, or with 1***** zip codes, or whatever. Don’t worry!

So has anyone been invited to the (non-Belk) Scholar’s Weekend yet?
