Davidson College RD Class of 2020

Hello guys  I saw there was no RD thread for the 2020 class. I’m an international student applying to Davidson. 31 ACT, 3.92 GPA, 730 Math 2, 690 Chemistry, 640 Physics are my stats. What about you guys?

33 ACT, 93 UW GPA, 780 US History, 700 Physics

Hi! I’m from Florida. 2130 SAT, 3.6 UW GPA, 4.2 W GPA. Best of luck to you all! Two more months!

I’m from NC! 2110 SAT, 3.96 UW GPA, 5.13 W GPA. I was my school’s nominee for the Belk Scholarship to Davidson!

Anyone know when Belk Scholarship semi-finalists are revealed?

Anyone know when the decisions are published?

Looking over last year’s CC thread, it looks like decisions were released on March 24 (2015) so it may be similar timing this year.

If the question about “decisions” relates to the Belk Scholarship, then this may be of use: http://www.davidson.edu/admission-and-financial-aid/john-belk-scholarship/nomination-and-selection-process.

If the question about “decisions” relates to admission, then the official release date is April 1 (always a dubious date): http://www.davidson.edu/admission-and-financial-aid/how-to-apply/important-dates. If the actual release of decisions takes place a week or so before the April 1 date, then that’s fine.

According to the application portal, Notifications for Regular Decision will be posted on Thursday, March 17 at 09:00 p.m. EDT.

^ Good to know, thanks.

International Here as well! 2130 SAT, Taking A levels so no gpa but mostly A’s, 710 Math 2, 760 Physics.

you can still calculate your gpa @lolaandgee

@DVDplayer How so? I’ve been told otherwise since our examination systems are so different

@lolaandgee Google it please!

@DVDplayer I did and there is no official/universal way to convert A level grades to GPA. Depends on your universities accreditor. But according to the most reasonable one i found, i have a 4.3.

btw the decision has been delayed to the 19th according to their portal

The updated release date states, “Notifications for Regular Decision will be posted on Saturday, March 19 at 10:00 a.m. EDT.”

@lolaandgee Most competitive Universities are very knowledgeable about the British GCSE/A Levels system here. They do not need to “convert” these scores to a GPA as they will look at your exam grades in light of the rigour of your curricullum and in any event, have a holistic admissions process where they look at your whole application.
I have met Davidson reps here at the Fulbright fair and they are extremely switched on about the UK education system.

I’m from California! 33 ACT, 4.0 GPA UW, 4.5 GPA W, 770 History 710 English, FREAKING OUT

Good luck @collegebound1516 Davidson is an incredible institution.
