I just saw this list of Davidson Fellows for 2010 and... OMG. o.o
How do these kids do it? Do they take classes way ahead of their actual grades?
All of it makes sense to me except the science. I started grade ten in September and so far we haven't talked about bio at all.
It's just been chem, chem, chem.
I don't understand where they get all of the background info for their projects, and how they just come up with an idea for a project.
Do you actually learn those kinds of things that their projects are based on? In school, I mean... later grades.
And if not, is it just their own research? o.O
I don't understand... there's so much to research and think about when it comes to bio; how they choose something SO specific and follow through?
Also, just a question that actually applies to my life -- how do you get lab space in a university?
I live in Ontario (Canada) -- could I do this at a public health lab?
And I've heard that some HS kids research under university profs and their research actually has value.
So... how can this happen? o.O Do you just contact a prof and ask them? I don't get it, but it seems like something I would like to do.
Thanks, and sorry for the rant! :)

Bump, maybe? Please?
