Davidson was actually a converted army barrack so it’s missing a lot of nice things that the other dorms have. Other freshmen dorms have a floor lounge for misc. use as well as a building study lounge and a building lounge with a piano, pool table, huge 72" tv, etc whereas Davidson only has one lounge with everything crammed into one.

The rooms like I said are more cramped than the BAMM dorms, but it’s decent. As a freshmen, I was just excited with the whole experience and didn’t feel cramp until I saw how much space other dorm rooms had.

I brought a normal stand-up fan my first year so there’s enough room for that. If you’re unlucky, you’ll get a room facing the afternoon sun which captures all the heat. I don’t know how to describe the windows to you. They’re the kind where you have to wind up and the panel only opens 6 inches or so to let air in. Pretty ineffective, so bring your best fan! Some parents buy their kids a portable a/c. It works pretty well. Something you might want to consider if you parents can afford it.

It’s about a 10 min walk from between the BAMM dorms and Davidson. Google map tells me it’s about a half mile. You can walk to see your friends but you can also just take the bus. It’s 2 stops away.
