Davidson vs Bowdoin

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out whether to apply ED 2 to Davidson or Bowdoin.
Could you help me compare the two?
Thanks!

I chose Davidson over Bowdoin (among other similar lib. arts schools like Haverford and Pomona). These were my top two, and in truth, they’re very similar schools. Davidson has fraternities, but Bowdoin seems to have a similar social scene except frats are substituted by athletic teams. Davidson has undoubtedly superior weather, but both have beautiful campuses. At Davidson, school spirit is fantastic, and people are extremely inclusive. The academics have far exceeded any expectations I had about college, though I imagine Bowdoin has great academics too. You can’t go wrong with either of these schools. Look to the small differences. For me, Davidson has been the ideal college experience. Beautiful campus, top notch facilities, the best professors, great sports teams, and a thriving and enlivened community. Plus, they do your laundry for you!

Yes, I agree. They are two great schools. Since the Grabler mentioned Davidson advantages, I will mention that Bowdoin’s endowment is about twice that of Davidson and Bowdoin is known for having the best food in the nation.

Where do you live? Alumni networks are probably stronger in their own regions. However, you still may wish to broaden your horizons in a different region.

Do you want to attend college in New England or the South? Where are you most comfortable?

Bowdoin’s mascot is the Polar Bear.

Yes, without question, it is colder in Maine than North Carolina, although Bowdoin is on the coast and a bit warmer than some other parts of Maine. However, don’t let the Polar Bear scare you as that came about due to alumnus Admiral Robert Peary’s Arctic expedition. Maine can get cold, but it is certainly not the Arctic.

I am not surprised that You are looking at these two schools. Despite the differences in location etc, they share many impressive similarities
