Can Davidson be compared to schools like Amherst, Middlebury, Bowdoin, etc? Besides the fact that its in the south? I like the bigger sports culture and warmer weather. Does davidson lead to similar job prospects/grad school placements as other top LACs? Any information on this would be helpful! Thanks!
Yes, Davidson is definitely a top LAC and comparable to schools like Middlebury and Bowdoin. Look at Davidson’s grad placement and job placement statistics for more accurate details, but Davidson is definitely highly regarded by employers. D1 athletics and Steph Curry definitely help the name recognition, but it’s prestige might still be regional to the general public, not that this is really that important. People who need to know will know it though (employers and grad school admissions).
The people that matter will know Davidson. People in the professional world, grad school admissions people, people in academia circles. Your neighbor Karen from down the street may never have heard of it, but the important people will recognize it as an esteemed institution at a smiler caliber to the top NESCACs. There are companies that recruit here that don’t recruit at some very top tier undergraduate business schools. The Career Center is top notch and the people who work in that department are very well connected. Alumni base is excellent as well.
For current students and parents – how would you characterize the frat presence on campus?
