Davis acceptances are weird this year!

Hey, anyone here feel like they should have gotten in and didnt?
Or anyone shocked to find out they got into davis!
post your stories here

I know people that got into NYU and rejected at davis
and I got into UCSD and got rejected from davis.

Anyone know why? I thought Davis had a points system just like irvine and sd

I am so *ing *ed right now. People with terrible stats got in this year, and an ass load of people with better stats got waitlisted. Are you freaking serious? I can feel one of the arteries in my brain just bursting.
God damn UC Davis.

UC decisions are always funky. I remember I had a friend last year with a 1900 SAT and pretty average stats, but she got into Berkeley. Sometimes I feel like it all depends on the mood of the overworked admissions officer.

Edit: Also it’s important to keep in mind that it may not always be about stats. UCs are facing major budget cuts this year and with budget cuts comes a decrease in admission numbers. Thousands of qualified individuals are going to be turned away, which really sucks. A person may fit the point requirement for a particular UC, but it might not be enough.

i didnt get in with a 3.4 and 2090 sat. my best friend got in with a 3.5 and an 1890. we have the same exact extracurrics.

^ dear God, what the **** is happening at that campus

Rejected Davis, Waitlisted SB…
UC Gpa well over 4.0
boatload of EC’s and awesome essays.

NONE OF THIS MAKES SENSE

I’m going nuts right now

not only davis… everywhere

Don’t forget that it may not just be stats, essays are important too

yea. I was told my chances at UCD was highest compared to UCSB UCSD and UCI <.<. Apparently its like the other way around -.-. Got rejected from UCD UCSB :frowning: and got in UCI and UCSD <.<

Shibykin why do you keep **ing about being rejected from UCD and UCSB-you got into *ing UCSD for crying out loud! Be happy damnit-look at all of us here who probably had better stats than you and got either rejected or waitlisted. Be grateful for what you have

2: writing about a tutoring experience for NHS. For the past 3 months i have been tutoring two spanish-speaking exchange students that do not speak english. i helped them prepare for the mathematics portion of the california high school exit exam (spanish is not my native language, but i was able to use the spanish i have been learning during the past four years to successfully communicate with them, teach them what they needed to know)

lol. i got waitlisted
i actually think its kinda funny

davis was one of my top three. 3.7 & 2070. tons of extra curriculars - especially with animals, which i wanted to major in. this is freaking crazy. i’ve been prepping for davis since i was like twelve. ugh.

honestly, it’s probably the majors you guys applied for.

there are impacted majors that are more competitive than others.

@KMA not my fault if ur essay or something else about ur application didnt get u in?

I think each UC has it’s own ideal student and some fit one’s UC’s expectations closer than the other. I got rejected to UCI and UCD but I got into UCSC and UCSB. My friend got into UCSD but got rejected to UCI, and my friend who got rejected to UCSB got into UCI. I honestly don’t know what they look for in a student (it’s obviously not just GPA as far as the eye can see, it must be essays or something). Well I wish you all the best of luck and I hope all you waitlisters get in! Now it’s time for me to decide which Santa would be better for me… hmmm

how was i waitlisted??? Davis was my first freaking choice!! :(

i put biomedical engineering. got into uci, ucsb, ucsd and cal poly already

uw gpa: 3.7
weighted gpa: 4.18

ACT: 33
SATII Chem: 750
SATII Math: 730

senior class president
a club president
a team captian

lots of ECs. they were the strongest part of my application.
i feeel awful :(

yea its not. Im just asking why youre complaining about not being accepted to Davis, when you got into a school much better than it

omg sunshine143, i totally know where you’re coming from. i’m in the same boat pretty much.

cuz a rejection letter is still a rejection letter duh. W.E Cal is last and lets see what happens :)

and KMA, you have full right to complain. like wthh you should have gotten in
