<p>I can understand having to go through hardships but that isn't a reason for a school, especially a very firm and scale-based school like a UC, to admit you. To me all it says is that you didn't have the chance to learn what you needed to succeed in a UC. I could maybe see you going to a CC and getting the numbers and using your situation as an addition to that...</p>

<p>Does anyone else agree? I dont believe people should be admitted because they had hard times. Aren't admission decisions in existence to select the most prepared students from high schools? (this might go along a little bit with Affirmative Action :O)</p>
