Hi, I need a few questions answered, I’m really confused with this financial aid stuff but have gotten some key concepts down.

My payments seems to be estimated and simplified to be like this:

Total cost of the year: $25,710

Estimated Cal grant reward: $7,788

Federal Direct Loan Sub-NH: $3,500.00
Federal Perkins Loan-NH: $2,000.00

And I know I have to pay quarterly.

From my calculations, I have to pay about $2928.50 every quarter.

Can I increase the direct loan of these two loans that I am offered? I believe they can make payment plans for 5 or 10 years correct?

If I can’t increase these loans, can I ask the financial aids people to borrow other government loans not listed on my personal “MyAwards” website? Are the government student loans are the only loans I should be looking more for?

I’m going to call the financial aid office tomorrow finally, but I would really appreciate help here from anybody who has experience in this or have already asked the questions.

Thank you for reading.
