Davis more selective than Irvine?

Much to my suprise I was rejected from Davis. And adding to that, Irvine hasn't contacted me yet. I'm sure there are others in the same boat as I am.

Yeah, I know that they're always that one person who gets rejected from Irvine and gets to go to LA, but realistically now, do you think a rejection from Davis greatly decreases chances for Irvine?

Certainly not, Irvine and LA differs greatly in rankings, but Davis and Irvine are very similar, so I don't think so. It also depends on the major you applied for I guess. Good luck.

what r the impacted majors at irvine

It depends. Many factors are considered when making a decision. It seems decisions are really random this year, so don't give up hope yet. Plus, Davis had the most applicant gain than any UC this year.

I was rejected by Davis last year and got into Irvine so there is hope. I know Davis had to cut down acceptances last year because too many kids decided to come that fall. I think Irvine might be in the same boat this year as they told us that our class has 6500 freshmen which is the biggest ever.

do u think they will cut acceptance a lot this yr.

Alright man. I'll keep holding out.

I've heard that Irvine was enrolling a huge class, but I heard nothing of cutting acceptances. I think Irvine was actually planning on expanding the classes and housing to accomodate. But yeah, it's good to know that there is still hope.

does UCI usually take this long in getting back decisions???

uci sends out admissions in waves. i got mine on 3/9, so it's really hard to tell when they'll send the others

I don't think UCI is cutting down acceptances this yr. According to this
Today@UCI: Quick Facts
they only enrolled 4885 freshman last year, which isn't too much. According to this
UC Davis News & Information :: More Selective Admissions Yield Smaller Freshman Class
Davis was aiming at around the same number as Irvine last year, so if Irvine enrolls the same number of applicants as last year, their selectivity should be around the same.

got rejected in DAVis waiting for IRvine!

i'm with you gabe, i'm getting really nervous

I've heard UCD rejected a lot of good students. My daughter did not apply to UCD(something about Cow town) but a lot of her friends got rejected that are really good students. I'd say UCD's admission decision is more eratic than UCI.

UCI!! Please rescue us!

Save us from the UCD and SD rejection depression!

@Asuka

All depends though. Did they get a significant surge of applicants this year when compared to last?

not really sure, ive been trying to find out about that, googling it, but no luck

Nothing on UCI specifically...

Just shows a record number of applicants. It's all a question if UCI is planning on enrolling more or less students this year.

it looks like UCI got about 2000 more applicants than UCD. That makes me a little worried.

has anyone been accepted to the business administration major yet because I haven't and I have been waiting for soooo long! I'm starting to really worry because I got rejected from UCSD and Davis but was accepted to UCSC and UCR. Does UCI send out rejection letters last because it seems like everyone else has already gotten accepted. I'm freaking out! UCI is my first choice and I don't know what I'd do if I was rejected. Somebody please reassure me!!!

check this out. UCI got only

Hey cambosoup I'm in the exact same situation as you. I was devastated to find out that I got rejected for UCSD and UCD, but was a little relieved to find out I got into UCR and UCSC. I've been waiting on Irvine for a really long time. Don't give up hope. I'm trying to still have hope.
