Which of these schools has the best reputation for engineering? Rank them from 1 being most prestigious to 3 being least

Cal Poly (1)
Davis (2)
SD (3)

I would choose San Diego in a heartbeat...
Best location of the 3, and UCSD has been on the rise, especially in science & engineering... UCSD is knocking on the door of Berkeley & UCLA into
the top tier of the UC system.

oh, i thought you meant SDSU...lol

Obviously San Diego probably has a better location than Davis, but in terms of engineering prestige is it better than Cal Poly and Davis.

Well, according to USNWR, UCSD has a peer score of 3.7 out of 5.0, whereas UC Davis has a peer score of 3.6. That's a small, insignificant difference... so I would say they are the same. However, UCSD has been investing a lot more money in building new facilities, and clearly is on a very sharp upward trend...

It's hard to make a direct comparison to Cal Poly... by the way, there are two...
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Cal Poly Pomona. They are rated in a separate category because they do not grant PhDs. CPSLO rates 3.9, CPP rates 3.2.
CPSLO has an amazing reputation out west.

I know San Diego has a very good bioengineering program. I wondering if the mech eng program is better than davis, cuz i heard some good things about Davis' mech program

they're all good schools. The job you get or the grad school you attend will NOT be affected by your choice among the 3. So pick the school you like best. And I'd suggest picking the one you'd want to attend if you decide to leave engineering. Recent stats show that between 1/2 and 2/3 of those who enter college as engineers switch majors to another area. This doesn't mean you will, of course, but it would be prudent to make this a serious factor in your decision.
