Day for Juniors

This wasn't on the college web site yet, but does anyone know if Davidson is planning on having Day for Juniors 2008 in February again? It would fall right around mid-winter break in our area, and I would change vacation plans around so that we could be there...THANKS!

It is now on the admission Web site as follows:

A Day for Juniors
Date: Saturday, February 16, 2008
Emphasis: For high school juniors just beginning the college search process.
NOTE: Registration for A Day for Juniors will open in early 2008.

I'd definitely suggest going. I had heard about Davidson from a friend and decided to go to A Day for Juniors this year on a whim. I'm going back in a few weeks and now plan to apply ED this fall :)

Thank you for the information......Davidson climbing up the list of daughter's top choices.

Wow - thanks for this information. So far, in my son's top two and needs to see it before applying ED. Thank you!

Just a quick note - the Day for Juniors was changed to February 2nd (two weeks earlier) - registered the D today!!!

Can anyone who has attended this in the last couple of years offer some insight. Daughter has toured school and Davidson is on her list. Thanks for any info.

If your daughter has seen the school, the day for juniors just adds:
--more information about financial aid (very encouraging),
--more time in real classrooms (not actual classes, but they do have a program in which prospective students can sit in on real classes, separately),
--a chance at an interesting panel discussion in the beautiful theater building about study abroad,
--free cookies,
--a student dance performance,
--the college president strolling across campus with common people (perhaps),
--yet another chance for students to visualize themselves there.

Last year, the date was late enough in February for daffodils to be blooming and spring warmth to be bringing out students to common areas. I have doubts whether Feb. 2 will give that chance this year -- more likely to be cold and gloomy (but nothing like New England).

We are looking forward to Saturday - any current students who may be around and willing to meet us afterward to answer questions or add any more insight - PM me!!
