Day Visit- Should I ask to see Admission Officer?

I am going on a day visit to my first choice school. I have meet the admission officer from my area once before on a previous visit. We have a 10-15 discussion. I have sent several emails during the past three months, telling her how much I love the school and that it is my first choice. That said, I am going on a full day visit to sit in on classes with a student.

Should I send her an email saying I'd like to stop by and say hello, or will this be annoying at this point? I don't want to be a pain, I know she is busy with EA apps now. (mine being one of them!)

What do you think? What would you do?

I’d send the email saying: I’m excited about my visit on xx/xx/2010. Once done, I’ll drop by your office. If you’re free, I’ll say “hello”.

And just let it go at that. If she’s there and able to meet w/you for a few seconds, say HI and tell her your impressions. Have no bigger expectations than this. If she’s flexible, she’ll probably engage you a bit. But if not, don’ t worry. Sound like a plan?

Yea, that’s what I thought too, but I don’t want to seem like a pest!

I don’t think you’re being a pest…it’s your first choice. Plus, I’m sure she’s had many students do the same thing as you :). I think if she’s busy and unable to meet with you for a quick hello you’ve demonstrated plenty of interest that will help in the admissions process.
