If my daughter is accepted to UVA, I would really like her to do an overnight trip. She and I visited the campus but I'd really like her to get a feel for the student body and environment without me. I have seen the Monroe Society webpage and hope to be able to arrange this. What I can't figure out is if I can combine a Days on the Lawn with an overnight trip. I would also be interested in others' experiences with Days on the Lawn -- was it helpful in choosing UVA over another school or schools?

Has anyone done an overnight with the Monroe Society?

My D had an overnight with a member of the Monroe Society. It was well worth it! Spending time on the Grounds with the students is how a prospective student will really know if UVA is the right fit. I think that we combined Days on the Lawn with the Monroe overnight, but can’t remember for sure.

Your daughter can definitely combine an overnight with DOTL. However, be aware that there are a limited number of people in the Monroe Society and they get flooded with requests as soon as we make notification. Submit those requests early. :)
