I know this isn't an academic question...but does any 1 know if we are allowed to use DC++? And if we are... wat is our private hub?

no, we are not allowed, but people do it anyways. i dont what our hub is. i couldnt figure out how to work it so i uninstalled it. :D

No, we are not allowed to use DC++ and never have... I don't know what our private hub is anymore, sorry... the administrators keep changing the address name every time someone is found to have posted it on the Internet.

What do you guys mean we are not allowed to use DC++? Of course you are. Obviously, your actions on any hub are your own responsibility.

Oh, yes, be my guest... you're allowed as long as your activities are 100% legal...
What I mean is, using DC++ for cough makes baby Jesus cry.

lol there ya go :)
What he means is that UCLA doesn't prohibit you in any way from using it (although they did block the port I2hub used for a bit)

all this is fine and dandy... but what i want to know, is what the hell is ucla's port for DC++?? any 1 know? We all know downloading is illegal.... no need to go in circles

I'm afraid we're not allowed to post the address of the UCLA DC++ hub. It is up to you to find that out for yourself privately :-P. Try asking people on your floor or upperclassmen. Upperclassmen are very knowledgeable on this stuff.
