<p>No but broken pipes have been a thing in Columbia the last few days with extreme lows (for SC) including some rolling blackouts yesterday. Hmm…maybe this is why maintenance hasn’t made it to D’s dorm to fix toilet that is continually flushing.</p>
<p>Hope she didn’t have any damage to her stuff.</p>
<p>I had MAJOR water damage in my dorm room freshman year. It was actually the first night we were at Carolina. Hazmat even had to be brought in. It was like there was a waterfall in my room.</p>
<p>The maintenance team was pretty awesome and we got to be buddies. If I remember, the supervisor himself gave me his phone number just to make sure we didn’t have any more problems for the rest of the year and he called a couple of times to check in on things.</p>
<p>My neighbours pipe blew, the road was covered in water. Poor guy.</p>

<p>Update: The pipe broke in the ceiling above her room and water only got mostly on her bedding. When my daughter got back to her dorm she found that someone from housing had already come in and stripped her bed and everything had been dry cleaned and was folded and clean in her room. They did a fantastic job!</p>
