De Anza CC'ers

Hi De Anza College College Confidential users! I am a sophomore at De Anza and have been using this site since last year (under another name). Just wanted to say hello and perhaps talk about the school, transferring, etc :)

Hello. (10char)

Hello, I’m an incoming freshman, and I’m very excited for my first day of college. I want to transfer to either UCSD, UCLA or Cal. Also, I believe in second chances.

SUPP!!! I’m also an incoming freshmen!! Pretty excited too.

da jia hao I’m also an incoming freshmen.

So uhh… one of my math classes was canceled and myportal won’t let me drop it 3:
It says the class is unavailable for registration, but my course schedule still says I’m taking the class, along with the credits.
Da hale, de asia DDD:<

I’m not sure you should talk to the admissions counseling when school starts. Or maybe you were dropped because you didn’t pay?

yayyy im a soph!!! i love this thread.
wooyoung - deffs go figure that out even before school starts cuz my friend thot he dropped a class once but…when grades came out he had a fat F with the class and grade on his transcript :[

I emailed the admissions and records people or whoever this one person redirected me to, but I’m still waiting for a response
The F is what I’m worried about >.> Friggen myportal won’t let me drop it ANDDDD I paid for the class, along with the other classes I’m in. I’m going to call tomorrow because I don’t want to wait for an email reply XD

Hey! Anyone want to cofound a College Confidential Club at De Anza with me? I want to remain anonymous online but I started another club at De Anza before so I know how the process works. It will basically be an outlet for students serious about transferring to hang out I suppose. I can also help you guys with transferring because I have now become an expert on it. A few things about myself:

4.0 GPA, president of a club, collegiate athlete, officer in other chapters and clubs, business major aiming at Berkeley.

How do you get books at De anza?

Yaaaaay, the class was dropped, finally @_@

@LiveTheLimit: http://books.deanza.edu/Home.aspx</a> There’s the link to the bookstore~ They just started selling them today.

hello, i am sophomore, applying this year. if you guys have any question, feel free to ask
I will help as i could

@investment - sounds interesting but im packing on the classes this quarter…with a job x_x
and yeaahh to echo ntpntp - if anyone needs help around da…ask!

@Redo Clubs at De Anza aren’t that time consuming. As long as we do something worthwhile occasionally, we will be kept active and it will be something we can add to our resumes. A friend and I are already planning this club out.

Anyone else who might be interested in starting a College Confidential Club at De Anza with us, let me know. We will be a club that helps students transfer and we’ll probably attend a lot of colleges around the Bay. As long as you help out once in a while, you will be made an officer. If you use this site a lot and are knowledgeable about the transfer process, it will be even better. :)

Remember there has to be a real purpose for an officer position. You can’t just make them up because people help occasionally ;). La Donna and the ICC Secretary will not be happy with you.

Check with the Student Activities Office (Office of College Life if they ever finally got around to changing the sign) because I recall someone mentioning there was originally a club for CC (on here, I never checked in the office to see for myself). It’s easier to revive a club than to make a new one (and it’s preferred).

I’m an officer in many clubs (even president and founder of one). Officers will have a purpose on paper. It is very easy to start a club if you know the process and are willing to deal with the bureaucracy. There is no CC club.

Kender, feel free to join.

hmm Investment…if you dont think itll be too time consuming…then i think i would be willing!

I don’t go to De Anza. I go to UCSC. But I was very involved in the Student Activities Office when I was at De Anza and had to explain the process to several people who came in inquiring about it.

There are inactive clubs that you may not know about so it would be good to check out the list to be sure. Trust the advice of someone who was an insider to much of the process ;). Just because you’ve created a club before does not mean you are fully aware of all the nuances of doing so.

Hey Everyone,

I’m a former De Anza student. I spent two years there and then transferred to Berkeley. Having gone through the transfer and community college process, I may be of some assistance with any issues you have along your way.

If you have any questions, need a mentor, or want to ever talk about community college/transferring feel free to shoot me a PM or get in touch with me.

Take Care.

Hey, CCCAlum!

I’m supposed to take three classes for my prereq for Berkeley, but I have only found two offered at another CC. None of my local CC’s have the one class that I need, so will Berkeley reject me for that reason?

Also, my major is Phil if that matters.
