Hi; I know that there are a lot of De Anza people here. Anyone taking classes this summer or know what they'll take in the fall? I'm taking EWRT1A in the (very) early morning with Delaney and HIST17A with Howard-Pitt right after that. I also plan on doing HIST17B/C in fall/winter quarters. 17B with Watson in the evening.

not taking classes at de anza, but i have a parking permit that will be good until the end of summer for $10

lol ok i just PMed you.

If history is your primary interest, take the lecture class. Otherwise, just take HIST 17C with Mujal distance learning in the summer. It's really easy, just two exams. You have to read the textbook to do well, but its not THAT long, and I really like the American Promise bookss that the HIST 17 series uses.

I think I'm just going to take Math 1C this summer with Hansen, and, in the fall, take MATH 1D with Mosh, CIS 15AG with Garbacea, SPCH 9 with Kramer, MET 10 (lab section), and PHIL 17 with Kaufman. At least, thats my tentative schedule.

Be careful with Math 1D nuveen. If you have already taken a class with Mosh, then you know how much time you need to dedicate in completing problems and general studying for his class. Taking 4 other classes with 1D might catch you ill prepared. On the other hand, you might be a genius like many of the students and can handle it.

Thanks for the heads up. Math is my worst subject, and I want to take Mosh to improve my abilities in it. MET 10 is just the lab section so there's no outside time required, but I will still consider what you've said and maybe drop SPCH 9 or PHIL 17.

Ooh thanks nuveen. Haha I just found out we're reading Fahrenheit 451 and Animal Farm for EWRT1A. Not bad. :)

my friend took calc courses at foothill because he didn't like the instructors from de anza (don't know if that helps or not)

Okay guys... the easiest English class is EWRT 2 with Modirzadeh. It's a hybrid couse, so you'll meet for like for like two hours a week even though it's a 5 unit class... but she only makes us turn things in online and have discussion once a week where you only need to post once on a topic and reply to other people twice.

I took a lot of history classes at De Anza... my favorite teachers have been hickling (she makes learning history not so dull and she's very knowledgable, but kind of uptight), and I thoroughly enjoyed Klein. Stevens is okay, but seriously really boring (and I like history!). Distance learning with howard-pitney for 17c was extremely easy.

um Calc c and calc C?
physics 4a and 4b
any tips?
i know for physics i'll get dickson
for calc C there is garrison and njasafman( <- something like that)
anyone took classes from them?
and what textbooks are used?

elementary statistics and probability wasn't that bad. i had it over the summer with soler. very helpful professor.

i had soler for AP stats
the hardest math class i've taken
only 3 out of bunch of students that got A and 5 on calc bc got the A in his class
but luckily i got an A woot!! i worked hard for it
the people who were going to stanford, caltech, u penn, UC berk, UCLA got B's

but SOLER is a great teacher!!! he knows EVERYTHING!!!
( getting a rec from him! woot!)
