Deadline extended to January 21? Same with Peer Evaluations?

With the deadline extended to January 21st, would it be fine to apply and send in recs/etc this week?

also do the peer evaluations have to be done by peers in the same grade as you?

Nope. Any “peer” is fine.

“It may be easier to tell you who should NOT write it: a teacher, a coach, an employer, a parent/uncle/aunt/grandparent.”

They say the peer can be "from a summer program you attended or an internship or job you have or had; it could even be a cousin or sibling. "

During an internship i worked closely along side my mentor? She wasn’t my employer or boss, but she is an Associate Professor? Should that be okay?

I don’t think so. Technically, a peer is someone who is about the same age as you, aka, not an adult.

My daughter had her co captain from a school team write hers but her older sibling ( 5 years older - graduated from Dartmouth in 09) also wrote something. Her school really questioned the idea of a sibling writing the peer rec and strongly discouraged it although the Dartmouth admissions office actually suggested it during an info session we attended!! Not sure which rec made the difference but she was accepted ED. Both recs mentioned her leadership and team building qualities, maybe since they didn’t know each other but said very similar things about her they just reinforced the message. Although it is agonizing to ask the “right person” I think anyone who knows you well and likes you can only add to the application in a positive way!

is the deadline really extended? i can’t find anything about an extension on their website, common app, etc…

the deadline extension was only sent to certain individuals
