Deadline for Housing + Meal Plan

<p>Hey guys, I was just wondering when the deadline for selecting a dorm and a meal plan is. I've noticed that the website talks about the tuition deposit and the housing contract fee (already paid those), but there is no mention of the deadline for the dorm/meal plan. </p>

<p>Also, is it possible to dorm in Sutherland West if you're not an honors student? I noticed for the housing application that a possible preference was Sutherland West (or do they just put that up there for honors students?)</p>

<p>Is it a good idea to live in a roommate the first year despite the fact that there will be no telling what kind of person that is? I feel rather uncomfortable not knowing what my roommate would be like and whether he'd interfere with my studying and sleeping etc.
What dorms have singles? Do you guys think it's smarter to dorm with someone else or to dorm alone?</p>

<p>Lastly, I noticed on the online application that there are specific preference types and numbers. What do the different preference types mean and can we only select one? (Community, Building, Floor, Floor Section, BedSpace) How many # of preferences do we need?</p>

<p>In the packet they sent you, there is a stapled 4-pg titled “Housing/Dining Services Information Packet” - in the middle is the deadline. Seems they white-outed the orig. printed date of May 1 and stamped the date of May 22 - your date could be different.</p>

<p>My S got his initial packet Saturday and it had a May 29 deadline on it. We paid the housing deposit straight away and got a housing contract to download, sign, and return. So today that’s in the mail to Pitt and hopefully in a few days he can actually put in housing choice and dining plan online (at least that’s how I think it works). We’re shooting for Sutherland honors hosuing.</p>

<p>You may fax housing contract and meningitis form back and call them to confirm. This will save snail mail time that eats into your availble days.</p>
