<p>Recruiting usually entails initiating contact with the college coach after junior year is finished, discussions by phone over the summer, then key discussions, on-campus visits in the early part of senior year. </p>
<p>Coaches often urge recruits to do their applications early in August or September so they can be read by the admissions office. The coaches can then get an idea if the student has a chance of acceptance. Without Early Action, coaches can give “Likely Letters” to a few of their most desirable candidates. Most recruits who are eventually accepted do not receive likely letters though.</p>
