I already have SAT scores which get me a 10,000 scholarship (although I haven't been offered it yet). I think if I took the SAT again I might be able to get a 1500, so that I could get the full 20,000. I just would rather not deal with taking it again, paying the fee, sitting thru all that, if it's not going to help. I already got accepted to Rutgers.

If I take the SAT in Jan and get 1500, will I get the full scholarship? March?

That's why I worry. Rutgers isn't my first choice, but I'd hate to lose out on $10,000/year for 4 years just because I didn't want to pay $50 for a test and waste a 5 miserable hours on Sat morning, just in case I do end up going there.

do you mean 20k a year? I honestly don't think it'd be worth it; I don't know if you can report jan scores. The latest i've heard is december. Unless you're in a dire financial situation. If you really need the money, I guess you could try.

But I would call/email and ask before I make any of these decisions.

On the site, "As a courtesy, we will use improved test scores from tests administered no later than January 1, 2009 to determine scholarship awards"
