Hi guys, just wondering when is a good time to SEND the sat scores. I heard it takes 6 weeks to reach the college? So assuming i apply for Regular Decision (1 Jan is the deadline right?), it's best to send in by the 3rd week of november? What happens if i take the SAT in december? Then won't the scores NOT reach the college by 1 Jan since it takes 6 weeks and results will only be released like in the last week of december? help!

could you guys kindly advice on the early action too? the deadline is in nov but what if i take the sat in october? Then how do i send the scores in time as well? ><

For EA/ED, October and sometimes November scores are fine. Check with individual schools, as some will accept November scores for consideration, while others won't. Also, some will want you to rush Nov scores, while others want regular delivery.

For RD, December, and sometimes even January (for retakes) are accepted. Again, check with schools for January consideration.

Hmm but what i want to know is how do the scores make it in time for consideration? So even though the scores take about six months, it doesn't matter if it reaches them in like december (suppose we take the nov sat and applying for EA)? Yep hope you can clarify this. Thanks! :)

Hmm but what i want to know is how do the scores make it in time for consideration? So even though the scores take about six months, it doesn't matter if it reaches them in like early december (suppose we take the oct sat, didn't indicate on the collegeboard form that we want to notify the schools of our results first because unsure of getting good scores, and applying for EA)? Yep hope you can clarify this. Thanks! :)

How long does it take for the SAT score to reach the school in time for consideration?

is the question right?

Yea. I would also want to know that if the deadline for application is Nov 1, must the scores also reach the college by Nov 1?

Again, you need to take a look at websites of the individual colleges in question. If a college has an application deadline of Nov 1, but they say they will accept test scores from the Nov test day, then clearly the scores will make it in in time for consideration; colleges will not intentionally try to mislead you.

I think these days there's a move to send scores electronically, which cuts down on the delivery time. Rush reporting apparently is still a paper version, which is why some schools don't want you to rush scores, as they may get the electronic version before the rush.

hi folks, i was hoping that you might help me because im so confused :s
