I was looking on the website and it says that the deadline for Critical Studies application is December 1st? Does that mean I have to submit my whole USC application by December 1st, or only submit the supplemental materials?

[Additional Requirements - USC Undergraduate Admission](http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/apply/additional_req.html)

Does the recommendation for the regular application need to be sent by then too or can it be sent after?

Also, what kind of recommendations do they want for the 3 recommendations required for the Critical Studies supplemental material?

If you can’t meet the Dec 1 deadline, then apply to CLAS and then do an internal transfer. A few students that are friends of my daughter were able to do an internal transfer in to Critical Studies in their Soph, Junior year, as long as you keep your USC grades up.

Go ahead and apply with the supplemental materials by Dec. 1st, and have your letters of recommendation stream in after wards. Admissions knows that it takes a while for the letters to get to them. They don’t make a decision anyway until mid-February or so. Have a good second choice major ready in case they don’t accept you.

As far as recommendations, ask high school teachers first, and then employers if you have them, clergy…those in a position of authority who know you and your work ethic. It’s not absolutely necessary to have lots of film experience. They would rather teach you film anyway

Okay thanks!
