Deadline for scholarships

Hi everyone,
I am an international student and i want to get a scholarship of Temple. My gpa is 9/10 and my SAT is 1310 for Math + CR (superscore) .I want to retake SAT on Jan 23 and the result will be out on Feb 11 . Is the deadline for scholarship Mar 1 or earlier?

send admissions an email. that may too late to apply and get scholarship. i know it is past deadline to appeal scholarship but i am not sure how they handle new applications they get at that time. and check the schlolarship pdf fille you can access on Temple’s admissions website info, the pdf may answer your question.

I thought the deadline to appeal (Jan 15) is for EA only…I’ve sent email to AskAnOwl but dont get reply. Anw thank you

askanowl@temple.edu You sent it to this address? there can be a lag in response time.

above is pdf file, I do not see a deadline on it. if you do not hear from Temple within a week and are unable to call since you are international, let me know and I will call admissions for you. you should look up the international students office as well. I am pretty sure Temple has one. They may be able to help you with these issues as well.

email for international student dept noted above

On the scholarship link above it states:
“The deadline to appeal for additional scholarship monies based on new testing information is January 15. The appeal must be in writing.”

It doesn’t reference Early Action or Regular Decision, so IMO it applies to both i.e… You would have to have all test results in by Jan 15…

@ctl987 i sent email to both askanowl and international admission…It has been 6 days already…So when you are free can you contact TU and ask for me? Many thanks  Since money is really an issue for me, I have to find another school if i miss the deadline for scholarships at TU.

@runswimyoga It is stated on the websites that there is no separated application for scholarships so the appeal in writing must be for EA only, I guess  .

My Bad, I was under the impression you had already applied and were just trying to retake the test to achieve a higher score. The way I read it:
If you haven’t applied yet, then the rolling admissions, freshman application for fall, and FASFA priority consideration is Mar 1, so you would have to apply by Mar 1 at the latest. All test scores would have to be in by that date. You wouldn’t be able to appeal whatever merit scholarship they gave you.

Dates to Remember:

Freshman Early Action Deadline November 1
Early Action Decision Deadline January 10
Deadline for Nursing and Health Information Management Applicants February 15
Freshman Application Deadline for Fall Semester March 1
FAFSA Financial Aid Application Deadline March 1
Housing and Tuition Deposit Deadline May 1

and same for international students:http://admissions.temple.edu/sites/admissions/files/uploads/Scholarship%20Flyer%20No%20Crops.pdf

@runswimyoga Thank you.
And some other questions about the scholarships :
-Are the scholarships guaranteed if applicants meet the requirements ( on the pdf) ?
-Are the scholarships limited or all the applicants who meet the requirement will get ones ?

shindly, yes scholarships are guaranteed if you meet criteria and i am pretty darn sure all applicants who meet criteria for scholarship get the one noted in pdf file. i sent you message btw, please put all your questions in return message and then i will have everything you want answered in front of me when i call.

i assume you are studying as hard as you can to pull SAT up, what is your SAT breakdown btw? and check SAT section on CC. there are various study tips on there. Temple also uses Toeffl for international students. i am assuming either Toefl, SAT, or ACT is fine to submit. but if you ahve taken toeffl, look at Temple’s interatinlal section as they have a pdf link to Toefl scores as well.

and as you likelky know, Temple uses their onw formula for the GPA and only looks at certain classes eg, math, science. and 3 other core subjects.

@ctl987 I took SAT 2 times already.
1st : M :760 Cr 500 W : 580
2nd : M 800 Cr 510 W 560
And yep I want to improve my SAT score since my friend got a full tuition scholarship while his gpa at my highschool is <9(/10) and i got 9 .
I took IELTS instead of Toefl and i think it is ok, right?

According to the International applicant criteria , Yes it looks like IELTS instead of TOEFL is fine:Standardized Tests:

Freshman Applicants: All first-year applicants are required to submit the results of at least one of the following tests: SAT, ACT, TOEFL iBT ®, IELTS, or PTE.

Here is the link to the international applicant page:
http://admissions.temple.edu/apply/international-applicant

(And As you can see from that link) its March 1 deadline

Recommended Application Deadlines:
Fall Semester

Freshman

March 1

wow, your math scores are phenomenal!!! just work on pulling the CR up. i think top scholarship is now 1420. so if you could get CR score up to a 620, i think you;d get top scholarship. Def get on the CC pages for tips on how to improve CR and don;t even study for math at all.

Given your good writing scores, i am guessing the tougher CR questions are what is getting you. see if CC has international student section on how to pull up CR scores. maybe there are some tips of pitfalls that international students fall into that you can learn about and avoind in January. and ask your friends who have done this already, maybe your teachers can give you some ideas too.

Good luck!

@runswimyoga @ctl987 Thanks. Hope I can improve my CR by the time the test comes .
