I got one teacher to fill out a recommendation for me, but I didn't realize that I was allowed more than one.

Do you think that they might accept a late second teacher recommendation, maybe January 5th or so? Has anyone had any experiences with this... ? Should I ask the admissions office..? I'm so confused. . .

(I'm trying BME, but I figure that if there is any chance of me getting in, it would be only to the University, which is cool by me since I'll be doing neuroscience then...).

i agree with monii - the teacher will probably be angry with you, but think about it, it's your future! also, some schools are more lenient with recs, and even have separate deadlines for them. if your teacher already has a rec on file it should be easier too.. and promise him/her a nice present, lol

and anyway... ive heard from guidance councellors that only the actual application done by the student has to be in strictly by the deadline. and it makes sense - why penalize the student for a careless teacher? so im sure they'll accept it late (especially if it's postmarked before the deadline, and probably if it isn't)

How do I get it postmarked before the deadline if I don't have the teacher recommendation yet...? I'm just kinda confused... will the postman do it in advance?

I think you should be okay with the rec letter arriving a little late. If Hopkins accepts late SATs, I don't see why they wouldn't take late rec letters. This is just my opinion though and I think laxfan would have a better explanation than my own.
