I know that CommonApp goes by ET, but UChicago is in Chicago which is CT. Is it due 12 ET or 12 CT?

I think Chicago technically makes it due at 11:59 in your own timezone, be that eastern, central, mountain, whatever. I think CommonApp will still submit even if you tried to submit it 3 days later; it's merely a question of whether or not the school will accept it.

I could be drastically wrong about this, however, so please don't take my word for it. I would just go with Eastern time, to be safe.

miles is right, chicago says it's due at 11:59 of your time zone. get it done an hour early, though. you never know when the common app server will go down.

-I finished my application around 6. :D I couldn't feel better.

Okay good, that's what I thought. I was just making sure, so that it wouldn't be late. I am technically done and could submit it by 11:59 PM ET, but I dunno... I'm in the midwest (central time) and would like to improve it a lot.

where did chicago say this "it's due at 11:59 of your time zone"????god I hope that's not true. I'm in Eastern Europe and I submitted the application according to ET

Their admissions website did indeed say 11:59 PM in your time zone. As the day has passed, their website no longer says that.

I think you, andreeab, will be okay, however. Much confusion existed in determining the deadline: Before 1/2? On 1/2? Midnight EST? PST? GMT? STD?

So don't fret too much on it. Contacting the school never hurts, however, so you should probably talk to someone just to make sure.
