Deadline Missed?

Hello all.

I submitted my Yale application just now (11:55PM Dec 31st, Local time) and the common app is displaying that I've submitted it on January 01, 2012.

Did I... missed my deadline? Or is this a system glitch?

p.s. The 11:55PM time is not off.

I believe that the deadline is EST… considering that that is Yale’s time zone. If you submitted it from say California at 11:55, you would’ve indeed missed the deadline.

There is a 4 hour grace period after the deadline in which they still take it.

it’s 11:59 EST, so you probably missed it; however, I don’t know whether or not it will hugely detract from your application. I’m guessing it won’t

I am not sure but I thought the deadline means any time on the 1st. So you really had until 9 o clock tonight…I think. For your sake I really hope so. Good luck! :)

Nice name btw, very ironic. :D

SB, the deadline is Dec. 31, that means it’s due the day of the 31st, not the 1st.

There may be a grace period, that’s a different question.

Ohhhh okay thanks Entomom, totally didn’t see that. LOL. I lied then, the deadline is December 31st…goodluck.

Hm. So It was midnight of Dec 31st EST? So the differences in time zone doesn’t matter than?

p.s. My time zone is PST :S
