I just look through the website of UMichigan and find its admission deadlines are written as:
"Fall Term Deadline - February 1*
Early Action - November 1
Winter Term Deadline - October 1
Spring Half Term Deadline - February 1*
Summer Half Term Deadline - February 1*"

I'm pretty confused by the terms it uses:
what is a "fall term deadline"? - is it the same as an "RD deadline"?
what is a "spring/summer half term deadline"?
what is a "winter term deadline"?

I checked out its website and found no answer. Can anyone help me with this question?
Many thanks.

It means you must submit your application by that date to be considered for admission during that respective semester. So if I apply before Feb 2, I will be considered for admission for the upcoming Fall semester.

Michigan is on a tri-semester system. It splits its summer semester in two half terms – spring (starts in May) and summer (starts in end of June). Winter semester starts in January.
