Does that mean I can hand it in before the day of 1/1 ends?

Thanks

i hope its not by tonight

im nowhere near done

I have the same question. Is it due by midnight of today or midnight tomorrow?
Thanks!

bump bump? Midnight of today or tormorrow?

I NEED TO KNOW TOO!
Any one have an answer?

Don't know if this helps, but I know for a fact that Northwestern's deadline date is 1/1, and the application will still be accepted until 11:59 p.m. tomorrow.

That's very helpful as I am applying to Northwestern too. After looking online I believe that when they say deadline they mean on that day. If I'm wrong tell me or your an inhumane person.

Thank Xiggi for this one

Lines at the Post Office? Haha, that is for ... amateurs.

Jokes set aside, allow me to repeat my little strategy for meeting deadlines that requires "postmark" proofs. It is pretty simple and only involves signing up for an online account with the USPS and print your own labels. You could print your label at 1150 and deposit the forms the next business day without causing an uproar. In this case it gives you a good number of meaningful hours. The postmark will be on the package and you have the proof of mailing with the same information. All for $3.85

Also remember that financial aid numbers can be estimated and corrected later. The schools ask for completeness and accuracy and prefer to see corrected information, even if it comes a bit later -in the form of an amendment.

Lastly, as far as mailing deadlines, it is good to remember that the mail won't be processed for several days and that a little delay should not matter at all.

Does anyone from past years or, rather, anyone at all, feel confident that it is either midnight today or midnight tomorrow?

Midnight tomorrow for Northwestern. For Princeton and U Penn and... and I have no idea.

If your college states a deadline you should meet that deadline (preferably get your stuff in before the deadline because deadline and due dates are 2 separate things) not the next day. Some websites are set up so that they will not accept applications after 11:59 on the deadline date.

Also it is entirely the schools perogative as to whether they decline your application for being late even if it is 12:01 am the "next day." This is especially true at schools where they already know that they are getting a lot of applications from students who have met the deadline.

but as long as its 11:59 pm on 01/01 it should be fine, right? I expect to submit everything around that time.

Procrastinator with a capital P...

btw sybbie, I believe Stanford gave a 1 hour or so "grace" period for submission of apps, due to some server congestion.

This is strictly anecdotal....im not even sure if that was the case, I do know that one CCer submitted it 5 mins late, but it told him he was fine.

You would think seniors from last year would know the answer but sadly, my friends last year were punctual and non-procrastinators concerning college applications. :o No help there...especially concerning online apps.
