Deadline

so, its today. january 15 is a postmark date, rite??? my supplements and crap were postmarked yesterday. are they late????

and, im working on my common app part. its due by midnight rite???
thnx guys

Chances are, because they receive so much mail around this time, they'll probably blow right by the postmark date. In fact, they probably won't even open the envelope for several weeks.

For the common app, the deadline is midnight and you'd better get it in by then. If you're doing it on-line - and you should - there's no way you can hide the fact that you missed the deadline if you miss it.

Good luck.

wait, so is it late, if i mailed it yesterday????

kind of. it's a receipt date. but if amptron is right about them not opening it for weeks, then you're okay probably.......they might be so overwhelmed with all the stuff coming in that they won't know when they received it......or maybe they do a good job of logging that kind of stuff, i dunno

wat the hell, i thought all deadlines are postmark deadlines!!! thats how it is with every other school! ***.

whenwillitbeover, do you have a source that it's the receipt date? all other colleges give the postmark date of Jan. 15

well, i know for a fact that it was a receipt date for the scholarships...received is in bold and stated over and over again

but i called about the 15th being a sunday and the lady said they'll accept stuff received on the 17th

Hope this can make you feel better. I emailed to inquire the deadline for University Scholars Program, and got an auto response.

Greetings from Washington University in St. Louis.

Thank you for contacting the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. We
receive a high volume of e-mail each day and we work hard to respond to all inquiries in a timely way. Our office is closed Monday, January 16, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We will re-open Tuesday,
January 17, at 8:30 a.m. Central Time.

If you are inquiring about the January 15 freshman application
deadline, it is still possible to send in your materials. Please postmark and send them as soon as possible. Application materials received by January 31 will receive full consideration.

Washington University accepts the Common Application and requires a
brief Pre-Application Data Sheet (Common Application Supplement). If you need a Pre-Application Data Sheet, visit our Web site at
http://admissions.wustl.edu to complete the on-line Data Sheet or
download the form. If you need the Common Application, please visit
http://www.commonapp.org to submit the Common Application online.
Please complete and submit both forms as soon as possible before January 31.

oh, sweet. thanx man! i made the deadline, wahhooo lol

It is strange that WUSTL has every deadline not as postmark, but as received by the admission office. They should change it to avoid confusions since ...

cy, very true! postmark is way easier, cause i know my limits better

received, i usually wait very last minute and then spend like twenty dollars to overnight it

postmark, you just drop it in the mail (of course there's the stress of beating the post office closing time)
