Ok, I wasn't thinking of applying for priority admission at first cuz I thought I would have a better chance if I apply for RD which _ I was pretty mistaken. So I just decided to apply for EA yesterday and asked my counselor to send my transcripts and write rec for me for umich.. she wasn' happy cuz I asked her like 2days before the deadline but she said she would try her best but also said she might not even be able to make it ..if some other things come up... So I was wondering if my recs and transcripts are postmarked later than 11/1, am I automatically deferred for rolling admission or RD????? I really want to apply for EA now that I know the pool will just get harder as time goes...this is really all my fault..but can umich forgive me for not meeting the deadlines for recs? I will submit all my online application before 11/1. I Want to go to michigan so bad..

It is ROLLING admissions still, so while you may not get a response by Dec. 24 if you missed the deadline, you would likely (unless deferred or waiting for 7th term marks) still get an EARLIER response than if you didn’t submit online by Nov. 1.
Good luck.

^ I dont care about getting my response late but I just thought EA was the only way to let umich know that they are my first choce…tho its nonbinding…:(
O well.

^ Not everyone who applies early has Michigan as their top choice. People apply to Michigan ER because your chances of getting accepted go down if you don’t make the ER deadline. Although I guess if you apply early, it shows the admissions people that you’re really serious about wanting to get in Michigan…

If you could somehow fit it in, maybe you could state that U of M is your first choice in an essay? That’s what I did.

The lady I know in admissions said that the apps they receive in September make it look like you’re more serious about UM, and people applying to a bunch of east coast schools generally apply in October. Obviously this isn’t always true, but they don’t think just because you apply before the deadline, Michigan is your first choice. You might consider putting somewhere on your app that UM is your first choice - I don’t think it could hurt. But a lot of people just get all their apps done early (like me), it doesn’t mean they’re all their first choice.

^ do you think I can state that in additional info ? I’ve already written my essays and I can’ really fit umich is my first chice in the essay but I am really seriously about umich. The only reason that I didn apply early is because I thought I would have better chance if I apply late with better GPA and SAT score.

I don’t see why not. I did.
