Deadlines

As an international student, I’m a bit baffled regarding the process of submitting documents on time…

First of all, I’ve registered for the October SAT and I just found out that the scores of that exam are to be released on October 27. Now, on the CommonApp there are those fields where I’m to fill in my highest scores. Should I wait for the October scores to come out and fill that information in (since I’m hoping for better results) or should I fill in my previous scores that I already know (I’m planning to apply as early action). Basically, my biggest concern is the fact that the deadline for EA is November 1. Would it be a problem if I submitted all my documents just a week before the deadline expires? I’m also planning to apply for financial aid and as I understand, I should submit my CSS profile the day I submit my CommonApp information…? Also, do I have to mail my parents’ tax returns to the universities a few days prior to submitting my profiles’ information so that they arrive on the same day as the online data? Furthermore, since I have to also submit a legally translated copy of their tax returns, should the entire information (such as: explanation regarding the completion of the documents; categories which are left blank since they do not apply to my family’s finances) be translated or could the parts mentioned in the brackets be ommitted from the translated document since they are basically irrelevant? And finally, when should I ask my teachers to submit my school report? Does it have to be submitted at the same time of my submitting my CommonApp information or could that be done earlier? Thank you!

I can’t answer your financial aid questions because I don’t understand that process very well at all, but let me try to answer your other questions…

As long as all documents are submitted before the deadline, it is fine. You can submit the day before, if you want.

And as to the school report, that’s up to your teachers, but it has to be in before the deadline.

Thank you for your reply!

I hope I won’t have to repost the same topic in the Financial aid section of the forum.
