dealine missed, please help

<p>It's 6:30 in CA, and I haven't sent my essays and financial aid forms. My friend got in a car wreck last night (new years eve) and I was at the hospital with her all day. I tried to go to fed ex, but they were closed due to the holiday. Do you think Cornell will understand. With the financial aid form too? They said that date is firm, but that the other may be extended if necessary. I can send it one next day mail tomorrow? please help me.</p>

<p>I think financial aid is included in the deadline extension. Don't worry about the deadlines - I'm sure Cornell would be a lot more impressed by your staying by your friend's side through all this than making the Jan 1st postmark deadline. After all, colleges don't just want people who are smart but caring people who realize that there are more important things than academics. I hope your friend is ok. :)</p>
