Dealing with Bad Roomate

SO I have a lot of issues with my current roommate. Last year, I changed from an all girl’s dorm to a more lively freshman dorm second semester and moved in with my roommate, Jill. So Jill and I never really hung out and she was always very quiet. I made friends elsewhere. For our second year, we agreed to live with each other only because my other friend, Jackie, would be the third roommate. We needed a third person so we grabbed Jill.
Long story short, university put three girls into a double – bad idea! Jackie moved out after two weeks (I don’t blame her, there were three girls in a tiny space) and I’ve been left with Jill.
The problem is that I am having so many issues with her. She has NO, I mean NO friends at the school and is in the dorm 24/7 when not in class. She never speaks to me at all even when she wakes up. After inviting her out with my friends, trying to go shopping with her and inviting her to dinner, it became apparent that the girl has no desire to speak to anyone, crack a joke smile or even act grateful for being invited. All she does is sulk.
I have my issues – I’ve talked about my parents’ divorce, relationship issues etc. so I’m not trying to get the girl to vomit out her issues. But literally, all she does is cast this really dark depressive mood into the room whenever I’m there. She bangs and slams drawers, stares and me and complains she has no friends when she has never actually texted anyone. Often, I have to be in the dorm because of my computer software, so I’m often stuck with her.
She really has the ability to just suck the life blood out of me and make the entire mood horrid. Like I said, I’ve given up on inviting her to places and all she does is ignore me, leave the room to go into the dorm living room (we have big rooms) and puts on head phones when I’m around.
What gives????????
