Dealing With Hate/Negativity?

Hello!
I am new to CC, I’ve been here for about two days (really!) and I’m already getting negative feedback. It’s not like I was asking for it or anything; I asked for safety school suggestions and ended up receiving some responses from a very negative Senior Member that had nothing to do with safety schools. So, my question is, how do I deal with it? I ignored her, but you can only ignore so many people, and there’s not a “report user” button unless I’m clueless to it…(which might be the case, LOL)

kjo, click on “Flag,” one of the buttons below each post. Then click on “Report” and explain the problem. The moderators look at all reports, but in some cases it might be a little while.

Thanks! As I said, I’m new, so I’m still learning the ins and outs. (: I appreciate your feedback!

I looked at the thread you are referring to, and I have to tell you, I don’t see hate and negativity. The poster is being realistic. When you ask for “feedback,” you may not get what you want to hear. You don’t have to ACCEPT it, but everyone has a right to respond as long as they are not insulting, and that member was not.

Well, the thing is, it was irrelevant to the post! I asked for advice on safety colleges, obviously already knowing what he told me and It felt negative. The comments about how I rubbed him/her the wrong way when I said something and such.

You will encounter some more negativity as your journey on CC continues. It’s just how CC is. The moderators won’t do much, if anything. What you have to do is get a thicker skin and learn not to take it personally. I know it’s easier said than done, but it’s the nature of the beast.

@Niquii77, the moderators will certainly take action if it is warranted - that is, if the Terms of Service have been violated. Someone giving you an answer you don’t like is NOT a violation of the TOS.
